CISCO Network Engineer (Cisco Routing and Switching)

 

Location: San Francisco, CA

 

Duration: 6-12 months+

 

Rate: OPEN (Get the best candidate)

 

Overview:

Key responsibilities include the identification and resolution of hardware and software technical problems/malfunctions for all of networks. These responsibilities require 24x7 coverage and response to systems alerts during "on-call" periods. In addition, this position will serve as primary escalation point of contact for resolution of data center service problems / issues. On a daily basis, the role will monitor and respond to network failures as well as manage network monitoring systems. Network analysis will be performed to proactively predict and detect errors in order to ensure maximum uptime and service quality. You will work closely with other IT groups to in the areas of throughput analysis, problem solving, and infrastructure planning, with the potential to affect the successful execution of business transactions.

Essential Job Functions:

1.            5+ years Cisco Routing and Switching experience

2.            5+ years FWSM/PIX/ASA experience

3.            3+ years F5 experience

4.            e-Commerce experience

5.            Knowledgeable in common network protocols

6.            knowledgeable in common Unix/Linux services including Apache, Bind, SendMail and DNS

7.            CCNP, CCSP, or equivalent experience

8.            Strong technical leadership skills

9.            Ability to mentor junior administrators

10.          Strong technical writing/documentation skills

11.          BSEE, CS or equivalent technical degree

12.          Knowledge of Juniper equipment

13.          Knowledge of F5 Load Balancers
