Job Title : *C++ Consultant* Location : STAMFORD, CT ( local individuals will be preferred) GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION: The objective of this position is to bridge software development and system integration, and to identify issues and develop solutions that could be software modifications or consistent application of system integration strategies and best practices. This includes analyzing how to apply existing system features to a given deployment scenario and proposing an optimal system configuration. RESPONSIBILITIES • Create, document and test existing and proposed system configuration patterns for various system deployment scenarios. This consists of configuring machines with MS Windows OS, installing the necessary system features according to the desired deployment scenario, and testing and confirming the functionality for optimal performance. • Work closely with other staff members to coordinate assignments and communicate progress and/or difficulties. • Participate in department-specific and project-wide meetings. • Provide input, solutions and recommendations. • Develop product deployment verification capabilities for both internal and external deployments • General server side software development as needed. • Develop a full understanding of the product, the operating system server features like MS IIS and networking components like network load balancing. • Perform other duties as assigned. SKILLS/EXPERIENCE Essential • BS or BE in computer related field. • At least 7 years experience in System Integration design including enterprise hardware suitable for Microsoft server operating systems, network configuration, and application configuration • Knowledge of : - Script programming, such as JavaScript or Power Shell. - C++, - MS Visual Studio - MS Windows - HTTP - IIS - Windows services • Thorough understanding of: • Software development cycle - Unit testing, server side and middleware software development, Windows services, MS IIS extensions, etc. - Hardware performance and general utilization as used and necessary to run Microsoft Windows Server OS. - LAN, WAN and related components such as DNS and network switches and load balancers - Deployment of hardware and software in an enterprise environment with regards to performance and high availability. • Experience with virtualization technology from at least Microsoft and VM Ware. - Automated virtual machine instantiation - Automatic software deployment and VM recycling. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Excellent presentation skills. • Excellent documentation skills including Visio, MS Word and PowerPoint. • Fast learner. Self-starter. Proven problem-solving skills. • Strong system integration discipline where candidate can clearly understand if the specific deployment scenario can be achieved by system configuration, new feature development or a combination of both. Ability to determine and communicate deficiencies in existing or proposed system configurations. • Assertive team player with demonstrated initiative. • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines. Desired • MS in Computer Science • Some knowledge of other operating systems such as Unix as they are encountered in an enterprise installation.
