Performance Engineer Contract Duration: 12 month + Location: New York City, New York Interview: Telephonic/ Face-to-face Minimum Requirements: 10+ years of Application Development 5+ years of Application Performance Engineering Well versed in Application Development (.Net and Java for web based applications: Javascript, JQuery, JSON, Sambuca, C#, Java) Hands on, detailed utilization of debugging and profiling tools, able to read memory dumps Core brokerage, financial or banking company experience Strong understanding and/or hands-on experience required for the following tools and technologies: Operating System: Windows 2003 / 2008 Server, Red Hat Linux. Application Runtime Environments: Websphere/J2EE, .NET3.0/4.0 web & web services Database: DB2 UDB, DB2 Mainframe, DB2 Connect, SQL Server 2005/2008 Tools: Visual Studio, SQL Explain, Fiddler, Wireshark, WebPageTest, Opnet, Optier, ExtraHop, etc. Description: Work with application development teams to ensure that the solutions will be designed, implemented, and operationally supported to meet the non-functional performance requirements defined for the solutions. Tune and optimize code as necessary. Specify container configurations that improve application performance in response times, resource consumption and scalability. Work with development and infrastructure teams to thoroughly understand the performance implications of software application design and architecture. Mentor application development teams on best practices for developing applications that are optimize with non-functional user experience in mind. Define processes that will drive the determination of performance bottlenecks. Define Service Level Agreement targets. Create the necessary reporting to allow for Audit and Control of the productivity in this area. Dictate which tools should be leveraged to help with discovery. Ensure tight integration with the Capacity team.
