For instance, must be able to explain why using a particular data type for a given field. § Oracle experience and best practices regarding Oracle environment (building packages, index strategies, logging/error objects, data optimization, etc.). § Heavy logging and exception handling. Ability to log checkpoints (for debugging) and exceptions to tables. Email functionality when process starts/ends and when exceptions occur. § Pull files from source server and move to target server. § Ability to archive any given file with proper timestamps. Deleting of archived files may occur for a given amount of time. § Object oriented type programming skills of Power Shell objects. Variable based handling of the scripts. Variables must be contained in database or configuration file. § Heavy exception handling. Exceptions must be caught and handled via email and writing to a database table. For instance, for a given exception when loading a bad file, pertinent info would include how many records were loaded before fail and email would be sent to indicating failure. § Rollback functionality - triggering a rollback script in the event that a given day's process needs to be rerun. This would include (but not limited to) re-moving files, cleaning the archive directory and re-archiving. Nothing should have to be completed manually other than possibly executing the main script. *Requirements:* § Experience in the Kimball methodology. Dimensional/Fact modeling. Slowly changing dimension functionality. § Power Shell Developer § Excellent written/communication skills. Must be able to articulate process inverbal and written manner. § Ability to document process, i.e. Technical Documentation, Flow Charts § Heavy commenting of code is required § 4. Cognos 10.1.1 BI/Front End. § Strong in Framework Manager and All studios (including Event studio). § GUI will be required (i.e. Java, .net, Cognos, etc).
