*Job Title: .Net Developer (w/ Silverlight)* Location: Columbia, SC Duration: 4+ months Overview: Client is currently seeking to fill a 4+ month contractor position for a .Net Developer on a project in Columbia, SC. The position may be extended based on budget, need, and individual's fit within the department. Client offers medical, dental, and vision coverage options as well as paid vacation, sick, and holiday leave. As many of our projects are long-term, we also have a matching (4%) 401k program available for employees after 6 months. The ideal candidate will have experience specifically within the public sector, preferably State or local government. *SCOPE OF THE PROJECT: * DEVELOP INTERFACES WITH EXISTING C# .NET 4 APPLICATIONS, UTILIZING WEB SERVICES AND SQL SERVER 2008 R2 TO IMPLEMENT CHANGES AND UPDATES TO THE EXISTING SYSTEM. THERE WILL BE ADDITIONAL WORK IN AN EXISTING SILVER LIGHT 4 APPLICATION THAT UTILIZES TELERIK CONTROLS. *DAILY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:* Within project schedules and other defined deadlines, candidate will provide architectural documents derived from requirements documents provided to them. They will then precede to code and test a C# .NET 4 applications. We currently utilize Entity and Unity Frameworks patterns that must be adhered to. Function: Works under general supervision and participates in the design and development of internet/intranet systems. May work independently or as a part of a team. May serve as senior technical staff member for assigned projects. May coach more junior technical staff. General Characteristics: •Integrally involved in the development and support of all Internet/Intranet/Extranet sites and supporting systems. •Works closely with other IT groups and customers to define the system design and user interface based on customer needs and objectives. •Participates in all phases of the development and implementation process, and may act as a project manager on special projects. •Ensures the integration of the web servers and all other supporting systems by using message based middleware and interfacing with relational databases. •Be knowledgeable of best-practices for building secure web applications. •Responsible for developing client-side scripting and server-side application code. •Extensive knowledge in using programming languages such as Visual Basic, HTML, XML, Java, and ASP. *REQUIRED SKILLS:* •6+ years of C# experience •2+ Years Silverlight 4 (or above) •2+ years RIA services •2+ experience with XAML •2+ .NET framework experience •2+ years Unity frame work experience •3+ years Entity Framework experience •Able to develop and interpret business requirements, develop technical specs, write code and develop test processes to meet requirements. •Able to formulate technical resolutions to business issues •Problem-solving, troubleshooting skills •Work closely with others in a team environment •Able to work independently, self-motivated •Excellent communication skills *PREFERRED SKILLS:* •Experiences converting XML and binary data into PDFs that are displayed *Education*: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field, or equivalent work experience. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "USITCV" group.
