*Description:* *Position : DB2 DBA Administrator* *Location : Charlotte, NC* *Duration : 6+ Months* Client is *AIG.* Summary of Position Responsibilities: We’re looking for a Senior DBA responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing multiple and complex database and ETL projects. In depth experience with multiple RDBMS systems including DB2 LUW, Oracle, and SQL Server is mandatory. Leads and consults with expert technical knowledge on the database design, implementation, integration and support of data, databases and ETL solutions. Defines and develops database standards, policies and procedures for more complex database functions and applications requiring additional technical skills and knowledge e.g. Business Intelligence (BI) systems, Data Warehousing, OLAP, Partitioning, Replication, High Availability (HADR). Defines design solutions, architecture recommendations, and client strategies for continuous improvement. *Primary Responsibilities: * · Provides senior technical leadership to database group, IT, and the enterprise · Coordinates software issues with other IT organizations · Works with IT and business customers to develop and design requirements to formulate technical design · Responsible for complex physical databases on specific database technologies; designs and implements back-up, recovery, archiving, conversion strategies, and performance tuning · Expert knowledge of RDBMS, RDBMS utilities and administration tools · Performance tuning expert · Provides technical leadership in providing solutions to problems for operational stability and availability · Provides technical expertise in automation and reducing operational costs · High level understanding and effective use of RDBMS administration tools and utilities · Working knowledge of technologies impacting database solutions including storage, replication, high availability (HADR), and Disaster Recovery · Experience in supporting a large portfolio, performance tuning *Required Experience: * · 6+ years of experience in database and database internals, in administering DB2 LUW and Oracle databases · 4+ years of experience in database and database internals, in administering Oracle databases · 5+ years of experience in Operating systems Unix – AIX, Solaris and Linux · 5+ years knowledge of Scripting in Perl and shell(C/Korn), Windows scripting, Power Shell · 3+ years of experience in database and database internals, in administering SQL Server on a Windows platform · 1+ years of IIS (Data Stage) or another ETL tool (Informatica, AbInitio, etc) administration preferred *Preferred Experience: * · Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field · Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts.
