The purpose of this job is to assist in the development and implementation of quality test strategies and methods in compliance with overall QA Methodology for our IT solutions. This job is responsible for analyzing, testing, tracking and issue reporting of IT product lines that are developed for clients customers. This position works in collaboration with Project Team and Management, Business Analysts, and other IT stakeholders to ensure that the applications development projects have been tested thoroughly and meet the required deliverables and quality standards. Role includes planning, designing, executing and tracking the results of associated test efforts. With assistance from Project team members (functional testers and Java developers), the Sr. Automation Engineer would develop the unit/regression test suites to further automate builds and deployments using the latest technology within the industry. Working alongside developers, this position would infuse more quality standards into one of our clients most profitable application. • Design and implement automation solutions based on system understanding and analysis of technology and system specifications • Ability to analyze and translate requirements and development stories into test scripts to ensure complete test coverage • Proven experience to Reports test progress and quality status to project stakeholders as well as educate team members to assist in Run and Maintain activities. • Write and execute automated test scripts using a pre-defined framework, in addition, design and implement test frameworks and tools • Proven experience in functional, regression and cross-browser testing • Strong understanding of software/testing methodologies such as TDD or ATDD • Experience working within an agile development process (Scrum) from the test design, test automation, and execution perspective • Experience testing Big Data projects using technology such as Hadoop. • Ability to see to completion entire testing process from data validation to front end gui using a combination of SQL, manual, and automation testing techniques. • Typically requires a B.S. in Computer Science and 4+ years’ experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience, e.g., M.S. degree plus 2 years’ experience • Significant experience (3+ years) Automation testing of web-based applications • Minimum of 2 years prior programming/scripting experience with Selenium and creating frameworks • Experience with designing, developing and the execution of reusable and maintainable automated scripts • Thorough understanding of the defect life-cycle process and industry standard defect tracking tools • Experience with Load Testing a plus (nice to have) • Proficient in GUI design standards • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment where resourcefulness, determination, and strong problem-solving skills are necessary for success • Positive attitude and the ability to complete assigned objectives with minimal supervision • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Web services and web interface knowledge desired *Top 3-5 must have skills:* • Experience in a quality assurance role with quality assurance processes primarily with software application life cycle development processes.
