Currently Eliassen Group has an opening for a Business Analysis for a client whose mission is to improve global health through public standards and related programs that help ensure the quality, safety, and benefit of medicines and foods. They have has asked us to find someone who would like to grow their BA career and build their relationship management skills to help them become or accomplish their projected project growth in 2015. If you are interested, here is what year one is all about. This is an analysis and relationship management position in the Information Technology (IT) department, acting as a liaison with various divisions. Translate business needs into effective requirements statements Assess the business impact of requested and ongoing systems improvements Participate on project teams to ensure that implementation satisfies the business need and maximizes process and system integration Facilitate the use of existing systems by identifying where requests can be addressed by current end user functionality and by helping users take advantage of that functionality Accurately represents customer desires and needs on IT projects that support the Operations, Legal and Science Divisions. Participates in enterprise-level project teams to identify and implement process and system improvements Works with stakeholders to identify improvements and assess their relative priority Determines the appropriate course of action for new requests: immediate resolution through existing functionality, support request for quick implementation, or as part of a larger project Reviews project deliverables for quality. Utilize experience in business processes for IT systems; business case development; requirements gathering; gap analysis; process mapping; solution design; data conversion; and support Actively manages customer expectations and communicates status of pending projects Tracks backlog of requests and works with customer to incorporate these into subsequent projects based on priority Minimum Requirements Bachelors degree in Information Systems, Business, or Engineering 5 years experience as business analyst focused on IT systems Business process expertise in two or more of the following (Inventory, Accounting and Billing, Finance/Controlling, HR/Benefits/Payroll, Procurement, Contract Management, Manufacturing, Laboratory Operations, Sales and Marketing, Quality Assurance, Legal/Regulatory Affairs, Public Relations, Meeting Planning) Experience in business case development, requirements gathering and definition, gap analysis, process mapping, solution design, data conversion, and support Proven technology leadership skills at both a strategic and tactical level Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic, deadline-oriented environment, and make key decisions in a timely manner. Proven success as a business analyst, with demonstrated ability to facilitate discussion and build consensus Ability to produce quality requirements documents, process maps, use case diagrams, and other key artifacts While this is all about year one and beyond, day one is pretty good too!
