Middleware Administrator Quincy, MA Rate- $50/Hr on C2C all inclusive In-person Interview Middleware Administrator: Senior Release Engineer Duties: * Provide administration support for Oracle Middleware components including WebLogic application Servers, WebCenter Portal, and HTTP web servers. * Work with various teams in developing, installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of portal environments. * Identify and successfully troubleshoot problems. Work across EHS teams to ensure problems get resolved. * Monitor infrastructure capacity, provide capacity analysis and recommend J2EE, Database, and OS turning and upgrade recommendations. * Work with other teams to improve security, performance, backup strategies and administration. * Identify repeatable tasks and automate them. * Create and maintain technical documentation including standard operating and maintenance procedures. * Implement middleware infrastructure standards and workflows for supported environments. * Develop platform and environment documentation, and provide training to colleagues. * Support design, implementation, and administration of WebLogic clustering, and Oracle WebCenter Portal that meet 24x7x52 availability requirements. * Integrate WebLogic with exisiting monitoring infrastructure, and utilize all diagnostic features. * Support the implementation of EHS performance SLAs through support of volume/stress testing and capacity management. * Provide architecture and configuration recommendations to ensure deployed environments adhere to best practices. * Provide technical assistance to agency users and other agency personnel throughout the Commonwealth. Required Skills & Experience * Strong experience with Oracle WebLogic Server (Enterprise Edition) 9.x/10.x/ 11.x Administration * Knowledge and experience designing, developing, delivering and administering applications using Oracle WebCenter/ AquaLogic Portal 10.x/ 11.x * Experience designing and developing WebCenter Page Templates using Application Development Framework (ADF) * Experience creating a Data Model using ADF Business Services, Custom Task Flows * Experience with WebCenter Security, Portlet Provider, Portlet Consumer and Communication Protocol * Experience with Oracle Java Server Faces (JSF) Portlet Bridge * Experience using Oracle Enterprise Manager, Java Mission Control, Java Flight Recorder, WLDF, and WLST. * Clear understanding of the J2EE software architecture and standards (requirement) and how it relates to the various Middleware (J2EE) platforms and APIs. * Knowledge and/or experience in migrating software, and the deployed J2EE applications to a later version of portal/ application servers, preferably 10.x. and 11.x. * Support of clustered environments. * The ability to provide senior level implementation and administration of enterprise Java middleware environments with minimal supervision. * Experience with application benchmarking and analysis of JVM resource/ heap/ thread, and system usage. * Experience with troubleshooting application availability and performance issues w/vendors and development teams. * An understanding of the key underlying Enterprise Java technologies such as JMS, EJB, JSP, JDBC, and JNDI, and how they are configured and administered in the containers. * Experience with managing application servers on Unix, Linux and Windows operating systems. * Development experience with Object Oriented tools or Java. * Experience with Apache HTTP web server/ Sun Java System web server * The ability to administer front-end web servers, especially with regard to how they interoperate with the java containers * connectivity, load balancing, etc. * Knowledge and experience in configuring proxy plug-ins for WebLogic. * Fluency in UNIX/Linux environments with the native commands, tools and core utilities, and strong shell scripting experience. * A fundamental understanding of basic networking concepts, especially in the realm of TCP/IP and internetworking. * Support various forms of testing including performance/ load/ stress testing, and regression testing. * Designed processes for application code migrations and supported migrations for large scale applications. * Knowledge and experience with application build software. * Experience with J2EE enterprise application support. * Must have implemented systems security that calls for integration with secure Single Sign-on and Web access management solutions * Strong knowledge and experience with LDAP * General understanding of current SOA patterns and standards. • Install, configure, tune, and provide overall support for all middleware related problems, including HTTP Servers, and JBOSS Servers in a UNIX environment. • Install, configure, tune, and provide overall support for load balancing, using Netscaler. • Identify and successfully troubleshoot problems. • Work with other EHS teams as needed, especially as it pertains to Disaster Recovery efforts. • Work to improve security, performance, and backup strategies. • Identify repeatable tasks and automate them. • Stabilize and improve JVM performance by tuning heap size, GC policy, and connection pools. • Maintain technical documentation including startup, shutdown, and maintenance procedures, and develop platform and environment documentation. • Implement EHS middleware infrastructure standards and workflows for supported environments, and provide off-hours support for Middleware related issues. • Assist in the implementation of volume/stress testing and capacity management. • Ensure deployed environments are compliant with defined best practices.
