PROJECT/POSITION DESCRIPTION: (for external use)
• Designs, tests, implements, maintains, and secures the
organization's production and non-production databases in a high-volume
OLTP environment, utilizing state of the art Sybase and SQL Server concepts
and employing leading-edge maintenance techniques to maximize Application
availability.
• Collaborates on the development of technical and security
standards with other database administrators and technical resources.
• Provides 24/7 support for various activities including:
Database maintenance, Application Releases, Application Database upgrades,
and Disaster Recovery.
• Provides consultation to Application Developers / Data
Modelers on:
• Database design
• SQL Performance and Tuning
• Processing features
• Sybase Utility usage
• Sybase Security features
REQUIRED SKILLS: (for external

of EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, and
experience in the design and administration of logical and relational
databases in diverse technological environments, or an equivalent

Proficiency in Sybase ASE and Replication Server, 12.x and 15.x, along with
BMC Database Utilities and Products (SQL Backtrack, etc.) in IBM AIX
environments.
