VMWare Infrastructure Engineer, Compute
· Serves as a server technology resource
· Creates standard images for physical servers, VMs and desktop
virtualization as assigned
· Supports provisioning and de-provisioning as needed
· Provides Tier 3 support as needed
· Works on projects as assigned
· Supports the development of SOP's for the operations team,
including but not limited to tasks such as server builds
· Supports the documentation of overall data center systems
architecture (infrastructure focused)
· Supports capacity planning and management, and configuration
management
· Supports technology vendor and solution evaluations as assigned
· Uses repeatable best practices in compliance with TMNAS
architectural standards and engineering methodology
Primary
· 5+ years of relevant experience
· Experience with:
· Compute infrastructure design, deployment and management
· Virtualization solutions (VMWare and Hyper-V)
· Windows host environments and related technologies
· Citrix solutions
· Application virtualization
· Strong analytical and problem solving skills
· Strong communication skills both written and verbal Secondary
· Solid understanding of VMWare and Hyper-V best practices
· Solid understanding of Linux host environments where applicable
Relevant Certifications: IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL Foundations v3),
Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MSCE Server, MCSE Messaging), VMware
Certified Professional (VCP), CompTIA Server+, CompTIA Storage+ Powered by
SNIA Certification, EMC Storage Administrator (EMCSA), EMC Storage
Implementation Engineer (EMCIE), HP ASE Storage Solutions Architect, Cisco
Certified Network Professional - Data Center (CCNP – Data Center.
