Some of the tasks include. Building a server, installing OS, install file systems, set up file and directory permissions, hard disk partitioning, mounting file systems, adding security features and installing monitoring tools. · Hands on experience with AD (active directory), Kerberos and other security tools. Proficient in installing Cloudera tools for Big Data Analysis in a Production Cluster and a good understanding of Hadoop Ecosystem (HDFS, YARN, MapReduce, Hive, Pig, Sqoop, Oozie, Sentry, Impala, Spark, HUE and Zookeeper). · Solid understanding of Networking fundamentals (Switches, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP etc.,) Experience in RDBMS like Oracle, MySQL from administration and also development point of view. Must be proficient in SQL. · Shell scripting is absolutely needed. Working knowledge in scripting languages like Python, Perl or Ruby is needed. Hands on with JAVA programming, debugging the code and providing solutions to the Development team. · Must be willing to work with different teams (Unix system admins, Network team, Security team, Tool Vendors … and so on).
