Linux Operation Engineers



Position Responsibilities:

Installing, configuring, administering, tuning, and troubleshooting Linux
based applications.

Ensure proper monitoring of all environment URLs for availability.  Be able
to identify monitoring gaps.

Ensure proper escalation and notification for each project.

Troubleshoot and resolve Client Engagement Support issues.

Ability to create and document processes ranging from sever creation to
proper response to alerts.

Handle day to day support activities that pop up and must be comfortable in
working on production support incidents on a live call with several other
support teams, making recommendations, escalating when necessary.

Create/manage existing shell scripting in the application.

Build/Administer/Manage/Configure applications in linux environment using
tools like puppet/fabric/chef



Qualifications:

7+ years of prior work experience in IT, including recent 3+ years of work
experience with CentOS/RHEL in an enterprise (100+ server) environment.

Extensive experience in installing, configuring, administering, tuning, and
troubleshooting complex Linux based application and middleware
installations

Extensive 24/7 Level 2 Support Experience in troubleshooting Production
environments

Ability to respond to critical issues, manage critical trouble tickets and
drive towards permanent resolutions.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must.

Experience with automation tools (Puppet, Chef, fabric)



Plus:

Experience in migrating applications from development/test environments to
production including customization.

Active participation in infrastructure architecture, such as hardware
sizing, effort estimation and security.

Experience with complex Linux/Windows based environments. Secondary skill
sets should focus on Unix/Linux based environments.
