*Job Title: Project Manager (Health Care)*
Location: Long Beach, CA
Duration: 12+ Months Contract (Long Term)

*PMP Certification Required*

Job Summary:

• Responsible for managing multiple mid-size to large scale,
enterprise-wide projects and project teams made up of internal and external
resources to deliver business solutions and services
• Defines/Executes project management processes and deliverables in the
areas of Initiation, Planning, Execution, Monitoring, Risk Identification &
Remediation and Project Reporting
• Contributes and improves project management methodology, working within
the Enterprise PMO project management group to translate business
requirements into a strategy for implementing a solution
• Employs project management best practices and standards and understands
key project metrics
• Possesses strong analytical skills and must be able to ramp up quickly to
the application domain and company processes
• Coordinates with Technical leads, developers and various teams, to plan,
design and implement
• Ensures deliverables are completed and approved to meet audit and project
requirements

Essential Functions:

• Manage 4-5 mid to large sized projects simultaneously
• Manage all aspects of assigned projects throughout the project lifecycle
including project scope, schedule, resources, quality, costs, risks,
mitigation strategies and changes
• Develop and maintain detailed project plans to include milestones and
tasks, with the ability to revise project plans, as appropriate, to meet
changing needs and requirements
• Develop and maintain project budgets and manage actuals to the approved
budget
• Maintain flexibility while adapting quickly to change
• Manage stakeholder expectations in sometimes difficult situations
• Collaborate and interface with all levels of personnel, including
internal subject matter experts, external corporate departments, and
executives and provides exemplary customer service
• Develop and deliver presentations to C-Level Executives
• Employ best practices and standards and understanding of the key project
metrics
• Improve existing processes and create new processes for efficiency and to
improve quality
• Assimilate and articulate simple business solutions and project approaches
• Manage programs/projects to ensure that implementation and prescribed
activities are carried out in accordance with specified objectives
• Estimate staffing requirements and lead/assemble large cross-functional
teams
• Make and/or facilitate effective business and technical decisions
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with Health Insurance Portability and
Accountability Act (HIPAA) Healthcare Operating Model

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Strong experience implementing projects using various project
methodologies, including Waterfall, Agile (Scrum), and Iterative
methodologies
• Demonstrate knowledge of health plan operations and major healthcare
technology applications
• Comfortable managing changing & completing priorities.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to ramp up quickly to company
applications and processes.
• Extensive Vendor Management and Negotiation Skills
• Ability to identify obstacles and risks to project success and present
alternatives/mitigation strategies to manage, overcome and/or remove them
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload.
• Ability to demonstrate understanding of how changes to process and/or
technology impact key health plan operational and financial performance
metrics
• Ability to work independently as well as within a team
• Should have some technical application development background to
understand the requirements and design of the project to engage the right
resources and provide accurate estimates.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to
communicate both up and down the organization

• Strong deductive and inductive reasoning skills
• Attention to detail and accuracy

Required Education:

• BS or BA in Information Systems, Computer Science or equivalent experience

Required Experience:

• Must have 5 -7 years of experience managing projects.
• Strong experience with Microsoft applications such as Project, Power
Point, Visio, Excel and Word
• Extensive experience in Reporting, Analytics, and Data Analysis

*Preferred Experience:*

• Healthcare experience
• Waterfall SDLC knowledge
• Experience with Scheduling tools such as Primavera P6

Preferred Licensure/Certification:

• PMP Certification
• Six Sigma Black or Green Belt certification
