*Role: **DB2 Engineer* *Location: Columbus, OH* *Duration: 12 Months* *Job Description*: · Be multi disciplined and open-minded to acquire all the skills needed to support the application technologies · Be a solutions-oriented, out-of-the-box thinker who can come up with new and innovative ways to solve complex technical problems and improve continuously. · Work with upstream and downstream partners in making sure breaches or potential incidents and resolved/avoided. · Work closely with the Project Development Teams to understand the future releases, impacts to environment, demand and capacity for short and long term planning. · Production readiness for code scheduled for deployment (solid release management skill) · Help maintain forecast, metrics, demand and capacity to support future and existing enhancements · Validating results with business representatives · Monitoring the data loads · Tuning the load processes · Addressing user questions concerning data integrity · Communicating functional and technical issues *Qualifications* · Minimum 5-10+ years experience as a *Database Administrator* · Expert level knowledge and work experience on *DB2 databases* · Experience on other databases like *MS SQL / Oracle databases* is a big plus · Expert level programming knowledge *UNIX Shell Scripting and/or Perl *(preferably) and Database procedures for leading automation efforts · Clear understanding of Database Architecture, Operating Systems, Client/Server Architecture, Middleware and Hardware (Servers, SAN, Network) for guiding customers of proper security management · Excellent technical knowledge gained from hands on role within a global organization.
