If you are not interested in this position, please let me know if you have any friends who would be interested..... *Here are the new job details:* *____________________________________________________________* *Job Title: **HelpDesk Support Engineer* *Job Locations: St. Paul, MN [ 100% Onsite]* *Duration: 6 + Months Contract **[Potential Extensions]* *Phone/Skype* *Job Description:* =========================================== Qualified Candidates - Must have.... · Technical and communication skills to support, diagnose, and troubleshoot end-user problems (supporting software engineering teams a plus). · Good understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and familiarity with the different types of applications used by large teams to manage the SDLC and adopt various “best practices” in software development (exposure to SDLC in medical or defense environment a plus) · Experience working with and administering third party client-only application and enterprise applications (client/server and web based) Responsibilities Include: • Fulfill incoming requests from R&D users regarding different software applications that are primarily during the software development process • Create and maintain Knowledge Base Articles so other IT groups can address common requests • Identify and collaborate with appropriate IT groups when end-user need is outside the immediate realm of responsibilities • Utilize Bomgar, Microsoft Remote Desktop, and SCCM Remote Desktop to remotely access and manage Windows workstations and servers • Create and maintain application installation documentation • Work with the Client Engineering Packaging team to package high usage application for automated deployment and test accordingly • Perform ad-hoc Marimba and SCCM reporting queries and custom information • Work with the Client Engineering Packaging team to package high usage application for automated deployment and test accordingly • Manage and maintain team knowledge base on SharePoint site • Participation on project initiatives in a supporting role • Take direction from functional and application experts on the team • Assist vendor partners with setup and support • Participation in recurring team and work direction meetings (aka scrum stand-up meetings) • Participation in team planning meetings (aka sprint planning meetings) • Working on Windows, Linux, and Mac systems Required Soft Skills: • Customer service – the customer comes first • Listening and patience • Organization and tracking skills • Written and oral communication Software and Tools Used/Supported (experience with all of these is not required, but exposure, understanding and prior administration is a plus): • Scripting: Windows (powershell), Linux/Mac (bash), PERL, Ruby • Defect Tracking: JIRA, ClearQuest • Static Code Analysis: Coverity, CodeSonar, etc. • Source Code Control: SVN, AccuRev, GiT, ClearCase, TFS • Requirements & Test Management: DOORS, HP Quality Center, PTC Integrity, TFS • Continuous Integration: Jenkins, TeamCity, Build Forge • System Configuration Management: Chef, Puppet, Ansible • Major Development Environments: Eclipse, Visual Studio • Traditional IT Helpdesk: Remedy, Kayako Regards.
