*Job Title: Tivoli Workload Scheduler* *Location : Columbia, MD or Tysons, VA* *Duration:6+ months* *Job details * *Job Description*: • Journey-level technician supporting systems operations functions, such as batch job scheduling, monitoring, and recovery. • Experience with automated enterprise batch scheduling software, preferably Tivoli Workload Scheduler (IWS) 9.3.2 or better is a plus • Provides 24x7x365 coverage for batch processing. • Performs file transfers, backup/restore functions, monitors memory usage and other system health indicators. • Performs troubleshooting of system stalls, failed batch jobs, system errors, as needed to resume normal operations in accordance with specific guidelines and procedures. • Escalates unresolved problems to system and application specialists. • Completes special projects and duties assigned by management to improve batch operations and identify automation opportunities. • Maintains direct knowledge of all system operations processes, procedures, and quality standards. · One positions available 9 to 5. The duties for the selected candidate will include, but are not limited to, the following: · Create technical approach for production batch scheduling of multiple distributed applications · Coordinate batch-scheduling needs. · Identify technical, infrastructure and procedural issues related to batch scheduling. · Assist in operations architecture, including event monitoring. *Preferred Skills* Candidates should have: - Experience in a distributed systems environment (Windows and Unix/Linux,a Plus). - Experience in creating and maintaining operational run books for distributed batch operations - Experience with Tivoli Workload Scheduler (IWS) 9.3.2 or better scheduling software in a distributed environment - Experience in creating and maintaining Dynamic jobs. - Experience with root cause analysis (researching application error logs) and basic problem solving skills - Experience with shell scripting a plus *Primary Responsibilities:* · Provide direct support on all batch-scheduling changes. Coordinate and implement batch scheduling on new and existing projects for the Development and Production environments. · Provide functional product support for Scheduling Software. · Provide basic troubleshooting of problems.
