Provide Middleware technical support for various CalPERS projects including
but not limited to the Internal PSR interfaces.
Provide ANSI 834 expertise.
Provide partner management support as needed.
Provide Investment Office support as needed.
Assist staff identify, plan and direct the necessary decommissioning tasks for
the SeeBeyond software and hardware platform.
Provide maintenance and support of existing production Middleware processes
including defect fixes and enhancements as needed.
Provide mentoring/training of the Middleware JCAPS infrastructure to State
technical staff to develop a sound understanding of the environment and the
existing components and processes.
Comply with all Middleware software configuration management and release
management processes and procedures.
Perform quality assurance reviews as appropriate.
Attend project, staff, and management meetings as required.
Provide status and time reporting as required
The Key Personnel must meet the following additional minimum
qualifications:
1. Must have 6+ years of experience defining and developing application
and/or component architectures;
2. Must have 6+ years of experience developing and implementing
architecture frameworks;
3. Must have 6+ years of experience designing and developing shared
architecture services;
4. Must have 6+ years of experience in Enterprise Application
Integration (EAI);
5. Must have 6+ years of experience in JAVA/J2EE design and development
technologies;
6. Must have 6+ years of experience with web application frameworks,
e.g. Apache Struts;
7. Must have 6+ years web server/application container experience,
specifically Apache, Tomcat, BEA WebLogic, JBoss, and OC4J;
8. Must have 6+ years of experience with Oracle RDBMS technologies and
Microsoft SQL Server;
9. Must have 4+ years of experience with Java development tools,
specifically JDeveloper, EJB, and Eclipse;
10. Must have 4+ years experience with Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)
concepts and implementations;
11. Must have solid experience with UNIX, Linux, and Windows operating
systems;
12. Must have experience with Sun Java CAPS product
1. Provide application architectural direction and guidance to
application development teams;
2. Provide application integration support to application development
efforts;
3. Conduct evaluation and quality assurance on architecture frameworks,
components, and services to be implemented;
4. Provide technical architecture assistance to CalPERS projects;
5. Provide architecture reviews for major application development and
integration effort;
6. Evaluate all proposed solutions to verify that the solution
architecture is in consistence with CalPERS ETA direction;
7. Provide architecture mentoring to project teams as required;
8. Assist management staff to lead and guide architects in the unit;
9. As directed by the application architecture manager, assist in the
evaluation of vendor proposals for CalPERS contracting efforts;
10. As directed by the application architecture manager, evaluate and make
the selection of software products and technology; and
11. Attend project, staff, and management meetings as required.
