*OVERVIEW*



The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for maintaining, supporting, and
help lead the day to day operations, security and integrity of all LAN
systems to ensure the effectiveness of data, voice and wireless networks,
policies, processes, and procedures implemented to support the data and
voice telecommunication needs of the company. This is accomplished directly
and in collaboration with others including outside services providers.
Ideally, this person will also have some PBX knowledge, but it is not a
mandatory requirement.


*KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:*

Ø      At least 5 - 7 years in LAN network technologies including areas of
designing, configuring, installing, optimizing and maintaining voice and
data communications infrastructure for multi-site, global business
operations.

Ø      3 – 5 years experience with change management process, telecom
project management and configuration control on a global basis.

Ø      Advanced knowledge of hardware and software technologies in the
field.

Ø      Performs, monitors, and maintains the day to day telecommunication
support and project activities of the department to provide the optimized
support and system reliability for the global business initiatives of the
company in the areas of data networks, voice systems, voice mail, wireless,
and video conferencing.

Ø      Maintain current knowledge of advancements in various technologies
and services that could be implemented to improve the performance and or
costs of the imbedded telecommunications (voice and data) infrastructure.

Ø      Evaluate, test, document and recommend enhancements/changes to the
current IT Infrastructure Architecture

Ø      Actively respond to the need for technical expertise in the problem
management process

Ø      Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Ability to communicate in other European languages is a plus.



*DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: *

Ø      Design and implement LAN and WLAN environments

Ø      Diagnose problems and inconsistencies with network performance

Ø      Responsible for Disaster Recovery and business continuance solutions
for network data and voice technologies.

Ø      Responsible for planning the implementation of network monitoring
technologies and processes.

Ø      Monitors the production environment and takes an active role in
avoidance of future problems through early proactive measures taken in
conjunction with the assistance of system/application/database
administrators.

Ø      *Provides 24/7 support as per pager rotation schedule.*

Ø      Plays an active role in documenting standards and ensuring
compliance.

Ø      Works in close collaboration with other areas of IT to obtain
information on limitations and capabilities of existing data and voice
networks as well as assessing requirements for projects.
