The required skill is "Smallworld", a geographic information system (GIS) application and the Magik language used with it not the Smalltalk programming language.
Assignment/Position Description: I/T Technical Specialist for Geographic Information System (GIS) and Design Tool (DT) software support, specifically GE Smallworld GIS applications. Role: Performs application analysis/trouble shooting, enhancement development and maintenance, overall system architecture planning & support, ad-hoc report development, requirements gathering & documentation, enhancement testing and training and software configuration management. Includes responsibility for client facing support. Required skills: 1) Smallworld Magik programming, 2) Smallworld Internet Application Server (SIAS) configuration & development, 3) Smallworld GIS System Administration, 4) Electric utility distribution system design & planning; 5) Business Requirements Analysis/Documentation; 6) Test case development; Nice to have skills: 1) Oracle application expertise 2) Crystal Reports development 3) Brio 4) Smallworld GIS Data Modeling 5) Knowledge/experience with Indus Passport work management system; 6) Knowledge/experience with Bentley's Microstation & AutoDesk products 7) Bentley's Expert Designer tool Job role & skill set: Application Developer - Web Technologies Bentley's Expert Designer tool is no longer a required skill – Nice to have only.
