Experience:
Position Requirements and/or Skills Required:
• 6+ years working with: Solaris and RedHat Enterprise Linux.
• Ability to troubleshoot issues using utilities such as iostat,
vmstat, truss, gdb, dtrace.
• Familiar with standard development utilities much as make, cvs, ldd,
nm, etc.
Production installation and support of Apache and JBoss systems.
Production experience with MySQL.
Experience with Jumpstart and Kickstart installation methods. This should
include customization.
Experience with one or more of the following: Cacti, Nagios, Big Brother,
ATG.
Storage hardware (EMC Clariion , NAS, etc…)
Veritas Products (Netbackup, VCS)
Able to automate routine tasks using Shell or Perl scripting
Performance tuning and capacity planning fundamentals
Understanding of security best practices such at minimal install sets,
server hardening, and system patching.
Positive attitude and ability to effectively work with others
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Solaris and Red Hat certifications are a plus.
