Role: *Mainframe Consultant with UPS*
Location: *NJ
*Duration: *6 months
Rate - $40/hr
Local candidates preferred,*
Required skills :
Primary responsibilities include the review of business
requirements, the analysis and recommendation of solutions leading to the
design and development.
* The position requires interaction with various application and
support groups.
* Candidate must be able to provide technical leadership to
application development teams and must be able to coordinate
cross-functional activities including product testing and performance
evaluations.
* Responsibilities also include the testing of MF tools.
* Requires 8 - 10+ yrs of mainframe application development and
support, good technical, planning, organizational, decision making and
problem solving skills & the ability to manage multiple projects
simultaneously.
* Also requires knowledge of systems architecture, and good oral &
written communication skills.
* Requires in depth knowledge in the following areas: COBOL,
EASYTRIEVE PLUS, CICS, DB2/SQL, TSO, CLIST PROGRAMMING, MVS, JCL, DB2 STORED
PROCEDURES and VARIOUS MF DEVELOPMENT AND DEBUGGING TOOLS.
* Knowledge of ASSEMBLER, TSO REXX PROGRAMMING and TSO ISPF DIALOG
PROGRAMMING is helpful.
* CWS skills and some knowledge of XML are desirable.
* Candidate needs to be able to work independently.
* Project management, issues identification & management, and risk
management skills are necessary.
