We have an opening for....... Position: Network Admin Location: Salem,VA Duration: 1+year Systems Engineer/Network Administrator position for VDOT's Salem, VA officE Management Center (TMC). This individual must be a self-starter and strong collaborator with high energy and drive to meet the needs of a demanding business environment. Must have a proven track record working in a complex systems environment using established configuration and change management processes. Systems Administration - manages servers supporting TMC, performs backups, security. Network administration - manages routers, switches, and support field devices supporting TMC. Server/PC Hardware repair - performs preventative maintenance and manage problem resolution. Technical Troubleshooting & Support for Core Application Software. Oracle Database Administration - manages relational database software. Experience with a variety of network and systems protocols, transmission methods and network/systems technologies. Experience utilizing network sniffer and traffic analysis tools. Demonstrated expertise in troubleshooting application, server, desktop, and/or network problems. In-depth information technology design, implementation and maintenance required. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related area. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products. Strong orientation toward excellent customer service. Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with system integrators, external solution providers and business partners. Must provide examples of documentation and process skills. **This is a small installation, less than 10 servers, 10-15 desktops, and assorted networking devices. Must understand all aspects of support required in a Data Center.
