Job title : UNIX Sys Admin Location : Columbus, OH Contract Length : 3-6 Months Description: The Client site currently manages 210 UNIX servers and a SAN for numerous agencies and diverse applications. This environment serves thousand of end users and mission critical applications that require a high level of security, high availability, failover, etc. The candidate will assist in mentoring and provide technical knowledge transfer for these state resources in the UNIX environment. The selected resource will be required to review existing environments, storage allocations and SAN configurations; suggest and recommend process improvements; and apply consistency in operations between the Windows and UNIX platforms. The selected resource will provide daily and weekly status information of the environments and will assist in creating incident and problem reports as required. The selected resource will be on-call 24/7 to assist with any issue that arises. Must be a seasoned UNIX professional and must have experience and expertise in UNIX system administration and operations of a large/complex UNIX environment serving multiple customers. The proposed candidate must also have the following experience: HP-UX (OS and HP server hardware) O/S Security Veritas Volume Manager Technical Writing Scripting Sun Cluster and/or Service Guard Storage Area Network (SAN) - HP EVA and HP Datagard IBM's Tivoli Storage Manager Candidate's experience in the UNIX environment by providing: The names of at least three (3) organizations for projects completed within the past two (2) years with contact names and information.
