Sr. Storage Engineer Location: Foster City, CA Duration - 6+ Months Start date: Immediate Job Summary: This position requires a candidate with strong hands on technical engineer professional with business acumen. The scope of this position involves designing and deploying enterprise class SAN solutions that deliver the highest value to our customers. The ideal candidate should be skilled in architecting highly available SAN infrastructure and disk subsystems. You will be responsible for development and maintenance of Engineering Reference Architectures for Storage Area Networks, Data Mobility, and Disaster Recovery/BRP. You will be responsible for mentoring junior team members, developing ITIL procedures and best practices standards. You will work with other Engineering Disciplines to develop Service Based Reference Architectures that can be offered as services to our customers. This position requires a dynamic, hard-working and ambitious individual, with excellent oral and written communication skills. Candidates will possess strong leadership and interpersonal skills and have experience working in large enterprise operational environments. Required Skills: * Expert knowledge in SAN design principles and administration. Must be able to design and configure an enterprise SAN network from the ground up. (McData/Brocade) * Expert hands on experience and knowledge of EMC DMX Symmetrix and EMC CLARiiON storage platforms. Must be able to design, implement and support. * Expert knowledge of RAID and Fiber Channel Principles. * Experience working with the following Operating Systems: MS Windows Server, AIX, and Solaris * Scripting ability. (Perl, Unix Shell) * Excellent oral and written skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Visio. Additional Skills: * Project Management * Experience in other Storage Platforms. (IBM DS series, Hitachi 9970 9980 USP, Network Appliance) Education/Experience: * A Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent work experience is preferred. * 7 Years of hands on SAN design, implementations and administration.
