Title: Extract Transform Load (ETL) – Ab Initio Testing Consultant Location: Washington, DC Duration: 6 months Rate: up to $50/hr CTC *Extract Transform Load (ETL) – Ab Initio Testing Consultant * Tasks: Perform full life-cycle activities in support of CCTI ETL project will include: 1. Train and assist testing team with development and execution of test cases and scripts using standard testing templates 2. Train and assist testing team with supporting the programming team with extracting test files and data 3. Train and assist testing team in deploying, promoting and migrating ETL/Reports code from Integration to System test environment 4. Train and assist the testing team with running test data in Unix environment 5. Assist the testing team with reviewing and comparing test runs using EME (metadata at the source to target level) 6. Assist the testing team with conducting System testing activities using current testing methodology 7. Document and report system testing results using defect tracking tools 8. Assist testing team with User Acceptance Testing *Skills – ETL Ab Initio Test Engineer :* - ETL best practices, tools and technologies, especially Ab Initio ETL tool - Experience in testing Data Warehouse concepts and application (ETL Report) - Experience with testing tools such as Hewlett Packard Quality Center and QTP - Ability to understand business/transformation rules which are involved in developing the source to target mapping - Ability to understand data models (both logical and Physical) structures and technical documents necessary to perform QA activities - Ability to write test scripts (SQL queries) to reflect transformation rules and be able to validate the mapping by running these test scripts and checking if the data in target table populates correctly - Assist in technical specifications and other deliverable documents. - Analyze functional requirements, mapping documents, assist in problem solving and trouble shooting. - Develop test cases and plans to complete System and User Acceptance testing. - Testing, modifying, debugging, documenting and implementation of Ab Initio Graphs. *Qualifications* - Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related area of study. - 3 + years of experience with Ab Initio tool set. - Strong Unix and Shell Scripting experience is must. - Broad-based cross-functional IT experience in testing is essential. - Must be able to interpret the transformation rules and develop the software components to support the same. - Excellent Analysis and problem solving skills. - Must work well in a collaborative, team environment as well as independently. - Excellent communication skills both written and verbal. - Mainframe experience preferred, not required.
