I have found the guidance provided by the International Astronomical
Union. It is found at
   http://www.iau.org/units.html
and it clearly prefers the use of SI units. There is a short list of
units which the IAU also recognizes. Unfortunately, these include the
parsec, the solar mass, and the jansky. Fortunately, the guidance
explicitly deprecates the cgs units still in common use by American
astronomers.

Maybe I'll post this on my office wall! ;-)
