Charles,
I fell into a trap of my own making in my first email to you. Although all
of the facts were true, I allowed myself to fixate upon a lousy 3/4 inch
which is less than two centimeters. Centimeters is the usual break at which
a human beings' height is measured, which you probably know.
My only wish, upon reflection, is that you had made it more clear that two
billion nanometers is two meters. To do so the accuracy level with the
picture of the man would need to have been shown as being 6 feet, 6 3/4
inches. Then I wish that you could then have been allowed to show 2 meters,
at the very least parenthetically, with the accompanying narrative about
explaining the two billion nanometers.
Mentally I am coming off having been assaulted by the constant American
conversion of measurements for field events in the Olympics in which all
measuring is actually done in centimeters (or meters plus two decimals to
the right). It pained me to see all of these still being converted for the
American public to feet and inches in the 21st century.
I do not wish to imply a lack of knowledge on your part, but in event that
the following table may be helpful, I submit it to you.
Sincerely,
Norman Werling
