I watch a show out of England, a few years old I imagine, on PBS. Its called Space Island One and involves a mostly British (one American) crew living on a corporately owned space station. I have heard them use metric for distances but the episode last night they were doing an EVA (space walk) and checked the pressure measured in psi, o well. On The Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, and Voyager you hear metric units in virtually every episode. They never use King George III Units. Also, I noticed metric used extensively in the new series Andromeda. It seems that Gene Roddenberry was either ahead of his time, or simply in touch with the rest of the world.
