I received this message from the Saskatoon Chamber of Commerce.
It demonstrates how little attention is given to the metric conversion issue in Canada
that such a brief and ill prepared response is given; Quebec is the largest province
by area, and Ontario is the largest province by industry and population. Note also the
misspelling of "Fahrenheit".
On that last note: Joe, have you heard any reference to F temperatures on Ontario
radio stations since I believe Ms. Winslow/ Mr. Smith-Windsor was referring to this
province rather than its French neighbour.
greg
Saskatchewan is ahead of many provinces in this regard including our biggest province
which still gives measures for temperature on its radio in farenheit degrees.
Concerning the lumber industry, 80% of our exports in lumber are to the U.S. so
moving to metric drivers is dependant upon the U.S. adoption rate.
