Interesting find!
We've had an gas-powered electric generator for quite some time, but I
just never got around to setting it up, so I pulled it out of the box
and prepared the power cord and attached a wheel kit by the same
manufacturer to make it more portable. To my surprise, the wheel kit
used metric fasteners, 13 mm, of various lengths. I guess what
surprised me was that the wheel kit looks like most American made
products, a few pieces of steel and a few bolts, and I expected it to
use inch fasteners! Both the generator and wheel kit are Generac brand,
with headquarters in Wisconsin but it may be made outside the U.S. I
could not tell. Did not have "made in the USA" all over it. The
generator also has metric fasteners and I'm sure the engine is metric.
Are not most small engines these days? The Honda lawn mower we have is
metric, but are American small engines metric?
