>To all, > >Does the Canadian Metric Association have a website or is it developing one? > >Han The Canadian Metric Association was founded in the summer of 1969 to encourage Canada to go metric. That was before the Canadian Government announced in 1970 that indeed, Canada was going to go metric. From then on our aim was to provide informative pamphlets about various aspects of the metric system, and to publish a quarterly journal of metric news from around the world. By the end of 1982 metric information was widely available in Canada, and news of metric conversion around the world had dried up. .India, South Africa, Australia, and New Zealand had completed very successful conversions. The United Kingdom and Ireland were converting. Retail scale conversion was going well in Canada. The remaining battlefront was the USA. We therefore decided to cease activity We turned over our pamphlets to USMA and distributed a sample copy of Metric Today to all our members, with the suggestion that they join USMA.
