I found this story on the CBC web page. Note the exclusive use of metric, with is
usually the case with stories from the national office (cf. regional offices) of the
CBC.

I thought this might also tweak a few on the list the wrong way... especially the last
sentence.

Delivery for the space station

ORBIT-- After a few technical glitches, a cargo craft docked with the International
Space Station, ISS, late Friday evening.

There were some tense moments for the space station crew as the Progress M-1
vehicle failed to dock automatically with the space platform. The crew was forced
to
switch to manual control to guide their supplies to the station. Officials at
Russia's
mission control centre in Moscow said the crew handled the situation well.

The Progress M-1 was launched last Wednesday from the Baikonur space base in
Kazakhstan. It carried two and a half tonnes of supplies, necessary to keep William
Shepherd, Sergei Krikalev and Yuri Gidzenko in orbit.

The delivery included food, water, technical equipment and fuel.

The crew, dubbed Expedition 1, has been onboard the station since early November.
Their total stay will be 117 days. Expedition 2 is set to launch in February 2001.

When the space station is completed in 2006, the multi-billion-dollar project will
be the
largest human-made structure in space. It will measure more than 100 metres in
length and will weigh 450 tonnes.
