On my screen (win2000) neither of them appears as the euro
symbol that is ( I can type with Alt 0128 )
It is in the unicode section of the alphabet, and it is present, beside
arial it is also on batang , comic, couriesr-new , dotum, georgia ,
gulim , gangsuh , impact , lucida console* , lucida unicode, MS
san serif, MingLiU , Mincho+ MSGothic NSimSun* Palatino
Pminglio Sylfaen Tahoma TimesNewRoman Trebuchet* Verdana
AngsanaUPC*
interstingly and very metric relevant, it is usually (except on fonts
marked with *) near to the F113 characher ( the lowercase
modified l used for liter ) .
More interestingly, searching along the fonts, i found on most
chinese fonts the following, quite familiar, symbols, each one as a
single one:
U3371: hPa da AU bar oV pc in a first serie (I know the first two ...
and the third, what are the others ?)
U3380: pA nA A mA kA KB MB GB cal kcal pF nF F
U338D: g mg kg Hz kHz MHz GHz THz l l dl kl
(the l for liter is script l)
U3399: fm nm m cm km mm cm m km mm cm m km m/s
m/s
U33A9: Pa kPa MPa GPa rad rad/s rad/s ps ns s pV nV V mV
kV MV
U33BA: pW nW W mW kW MW kQ MQ (the Q sunstitute for
omega)
Then, following:
U33C2: a.m. Bq cc cd C/kg Co. dB Gy ha HP in K.K. KM kt lm ln
log lx mb mil mol pH p.m. PPM PR sr Sv Wb
Again (what are C/kg Co. K.K. PR ???)
Some questions arise: why on unicode the series is so split:
Look at lenght: from fm skip to nm missing pm ...
Missing is also cl, while is present dl.
(note that all codes ase subsequent, so there is not a problem of
beng not present in the font)
Why hPa mol sr ha have been scattered between non-Si units ???
Again is missing the mS
why kB is written KB ???

any answer ?
