Sorry if I didn't make it clear, but the letter I posted here had only
just been submitted to the Letters page, and copied to me. It hasn't
actually appeared in print (and may not do, of course).
However, I'm sure it will do no harm by sending it. You certainly
seemed to open the eyes of the Telegraph letters editor!
