Has the National Weather Service ever considered adding Celsius temperature, kPa
pressure, km/h wind-speed, and mm precipitation to your web site as a courtesy to
international visitors and those Americans who prefer the metric system? I was under
the impression that the US federal government used metric as the preferred system of
measurement.

I can obtain most of the US weather forecasts via the Environment Canada web site (all
in metric, of course), but occasionally I prefer to obtain the information directly
from the source. Having such units as F, inHg, mph, and in makes it impossible to
understand for anybody, except Americans.

I am aware that Environment Canada has an "Imperial" option as a courtesy to American
visitors. A reciprocated effort on your part would be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,

Gregory Peterson
Saskatoon SK Canada

P.S> It is clear which system is easier to recall and why every country, except the
US, has chosen to use metric for public weather:

Freezing point 0C 32F
Atmospheric pressure 101 kPa 29-13/16 inHg
gentle wind 10 km/h 6 mph
"hurricane" wind 100 km/h 60 mph
typical rain fall 10 mm 3/8 in
heavy rain fall 100 mm 4 in
