Seen on an Italian supermarket (and bought by my wife):
A box of washing powder labeled: 9,113 kg ...
Usually normal boxes are 4 , 4.5 or 5 kg , so I expected an 8 9 or
10 kg box.
The product is made in Italy (By a subsiadiary of procter and
Gamble) and labeled for Italian, Belgian and Dutch market (in
Italian, french and dutch).
Curiously if you compute suggested "portions" for the number of
washes declared in the label you end to 9000g.
This size is also very close, but not equal to an american "rational"
size .
Does someone know the background of this strange behaviour ?
