[EMAIL PROTECTED] asked in USMA 10641 >I do not usually take part in your discussions. I >have a question. Has anyone noticed that good >that have metric marked on them in the US have mL >while goods from Britain have ml with a funny >shaped e afer them. Does anyone know why this is. The funny e indicates that the product conforms to EU regulations. The average mass or the average volume of a batch of the product must be at least as stated. However, some of the batch may be a defined amount below the stated quantity. The defined lower limit may differ from one product to another. The e-mark is beneficial to packagers since it allows them cut down their actual packaged amounts more closely to the theoretical amount. Joseph B.
