Samantha, You asked "tell me how you feel about the United States using the metric system". My reply is that I am 100% in favor of it. You also asked "What kind of effect do you think it will have on our country if we did switch?" to which I would reply: We would all save a great deal of time, money and effort, especially those who use measurement extensively but also those who do not use it at all. The ones who do not measure at all would benefit from the greater efficiency and cost savings in the businesses and industries from which they buy products. Another result would be to increase jobs, incomes and foreign trade because we would then be producing prouct in the same measurements and to the same standards as the rest of the world. They don't want to buy our stuff when it is measured in strange old units that they don't understand. And that's why I am 100% in favor of the US adopting metric.
