It appears that 18 °C was the original number and they applied 9/5 to it,
without adding 32.
Probably a common conversion mistake.

It seems the Italian news feels that it must use FFU when communicating in
English. In the three excerpts below, Italian and Spanish forms of the same
story mention a temperature of 18 degrees (18 gradi/grados) and then for
English they use 34 degrees "farenheit". Not only is Fahrenheit spelled
wrong, but 18ºC is nowhere near 34ºF.
