In Maclean's of Feb 12 ("ALBERTA BOUND"), reference is made to  "..  a
28,000 horsepower dragline   ..".
In modern units  (SI), this would have read 21,000 kW (or, even better, 21
MW).

On page 24/25 of the same issue  ("DREAMS OF RICHES"), repeated references
to land areas are given in hectares.  Admittedly, this is light years ahead
of acres but it would seem that good journalistic practice would have
referred to, for instance,  5,670 square kilometres rather than 567,000
hectares for such large areas.

Perhaps Maclean's ought to update its (presumed) StyleBook so as to use
modern units of measure in a rational manner.
