Good news for metric. A sound EU economy at a time when the US economy is
in recession, means that the demand for and production of metric products is
very favourable. If this condition continues into the next 5 or so years,
it puts the EU and other associated countries in a position to dictate to
the US to do more to encourage metric usage.

Keiner ist hoffnungsloser versklavt als derjenige, der irrtümlich glaubt
frei zu sein.

There are none more hopelessly enslaved then those who falsely believe they
are free!

Johann Wolfgang von Goethe (1749-1832)

> STOCKHOLM: EU ECONOMY IS SOUND WITH 3% GROWTH
> The economy of the European Union can continue its growth at an average
rate of about 3% in the midterm with a balanced macroeconomic policy-mix and
the institution of actual reforms. This is the message of confidence
included in a preview of the Stockholm's summit final report which the heads
of state and government of the EU Fifteen are ready to approve this morning.
The documents, which could still be modified, include the possibility of a
less favorable international outcome, but underlines that the "EU economic
fundamental practices are healthy."
