Disney Plans to Cut Work Force

Walt Disney Co. said it will seek to reduce its global work force by 4,000
people, or about 3%, a move it attributed to the "pressing concerns of the
softening economic environment" and the need to please investors.

Walt Disney Co. plans for the first time to sell a package of its recent
animated hits to broadcasters in international markets, a sign that the
entertainment giant is looking to extend the value of the animated films
that are among its core assets.
