Now, this could be the best way to familiarize Americans with SI.

Could USMA contact the producers of the show and offer them assistance with some more 
questions about the metric system? (And some training on how to pronounce them)

I can bet you that this will be the best incentive and the whole country will learn 
the metric system without any complaints.

My favorite question would be: 

What is the only unit of measurement for length approved by the US Congress since 1867?

A:inch; 
B:foot; 
C:yard;
D:meter

At about 21:05 EDT a contestant was asked how many dekaliters are in a
kiloliter.  It was either the $2000 or $5000 question.

He reasoned out loud that deka means 10 and immediately answered "10 final
answer".

He neglected to divide 1000 by 10.  The correct choice was 100 so he bombed
out at $1000.
