I would say, more like a dozen times, since at least 400 different units are
used in the U.S., while SI has only 30. This is a very important point that
we should continually hammer home. The choice is not between two otherwise
similar "systems"--"ours" and "theirs." The choice is between one simple
system that you can learn in a hour or so and this vast chaotic mishmash
that nobody understands.
