Through the years I have practiced a Great Metric Boycott.... against goods
labelled in ifp or ifp preferential! I boycotted Droste, the Dutch chocolate
producer for flaunting avdp trash on its boxes as if it was an international
standard and General Biscuits for packaging Belgian cookies in a box that
stated the contents in oz.avdp on the front and metric on the back. Both are
now improving. During the bad eighties I collected a number of these things
I encountered while shopping and send them to the W&M office; and some time
later I saw improvements! That means for me, practice Metric Preference all
the time.
And of course, Estee Lauder and Donna Karan are now Number One on my black
list.
We can use some of the BWMA's tactics,
Han

4) Practice Imperial Preference at all times Avoid buying foods, drinks and
other goods in metric-only packaging where alternatives exist with UK
equivalents.
