I highly doubt it. that would make the metric system look superior if the
imperial units were defined from them. More then likely, he references some
artefact in the Tower of London, or the old stand-by of ...three barley
corns, round and dry for the inch.
Why don't you ask your contacts in the BWMA to define the imperial units for
you? It will be interesting to see what definitions they come up with.
