SI Navigator has links to many sites, including those of USMA members (e.g., Jim Frysinger, Chris Keenan, etc.) and/or of organizations (e.g., NIST, USMA itself, etc.) for which USMA members work. In addition, it now has two on-site pages consisting entirely of member-contributed information. Some months ago, I added an entire page of information on non-SI units provided by Dennis Brownridge. He supplied the information in the form of an Excel spreadsheet, and I converted it to HTML and added it to the site. As a reminder, you can find that page at http://metric1.org/nonsi.htm. (It's normally reached via the Historical Documents page at http://metric1.org/sihistory.htm.) Recently, Stan Jakuba sent me a Word document containing an article titled "Standard Measure." A version of this article was published in the April issue of Mechanical Engineering, the magazine of the ASME. The version Stan sent me, converted to HTML, can now be found at http://metric1.org/smsj.htm. (This one is normally reached via Stan's entry on the Metrication Consultants page at http://metric1.org/metconsult.htm.) In both these cases, the final page was, of course, approved by its author. For Dennis's page, we went through several iterations before we felt it was ready to be announced. Please take a look at Stan's article (again, it's at http://metric1.org/smsj.htm). If you find any errors in it, both Stan (mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]) and I would appreciate the feedback. Bill Potts, CMS Roseville, CA http://metric1.org [SI Navigator]
