That has me terribly concerned, Stan. And it's not just energy issues
that come to mind. American beliefs about medical issues and many
others are shaped by the same malinformed mouthpieces.
Our media have gone well beyond being merely reporters of the news.
Even then, decisions about what to report and what not to report
affected public beliefs. Now the media also preach and campaign. Their
power to sway people rivals that of our governmental bodies. Indeed, to
convince Americans of something requires the government to work through
the media.
If a majority of our media were to push for metrication, it would be
made to happen during one session of Congress.
