Jim, I don't want this to be some personal fight, but,
seriously, I do not think it is consistent to claim to
be for metric and to also claim not to be in favor of
using the government to force metric.

You are saying that you oppose my efforts to talk to
members of Congress urging them to fix metric as our
one and only standard of weights and measures?

Or, are you in favor of efforts to talk to Congress
about joining the rest of the world on this issue?

And as for article 1 section 8, I think Andy Johnson
was entirely right to say that there is no reason at
all to support there is any reason to debate it. It is
very very clear. It says that Congress has the power
to fix the standards of weights and measures. There is
no room to argue that Congress could right now pass a
law giving us metric, top to bottom, if Congress
wanted to do this.
